Upcoming Events

In the Grove…

  • Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8:  National Gun Violence Awareness Weekend in Washington Grove. Orange lights will be in evidence in the Gazebo to recognize this event. Orange is the color of the gun safety movement because hunters wear orange when out in the woods to announce themselves to other hunters and orange is a color that symbolizes the value of human life. You may want to show your awareness and commitment to reducing violence by guns by wearing orange on June 6th.
  • Music Weekend!
    • Saturday, June 21, 2 pm: Youth Recital.  This is the annual opportunity for young Grovers to showcase their talents.  In the past, we have had children play an instrument, sing a favorite song, recite poems, tell jokes, and perform a dance or gymnastics routine to music.  Kids can come and enjoy a sing-along with music al therapist Anna P. even if they are not performing in the recital. Questions?  Contact Renee Moloznik.
    • Saturday, June 21, 6:30 pm: Grove Karaoke – Kids’ Edition and 7:30 pm: Grove Karaoke – Adults’ Edition.  This event is BYOB.
    • Sunday, June 22, 10 am: Jazz Brunch at the Gazebo.  McCathran Hall is the rain location.
  • Friday, July 4 at 10:30 am:  Parade and Costume Judging.  The Recreation Committee still needs judges. For those who would like to play in the Muskrat Band please contact Kathy Lehman.
  • Monday, July 7 through Thursday, July 31:  Summer in the Parks (SITP) and Swim Lessons at the Lake.  SITP will be held from 9 am to 1:30 pm at McCathran Hall.  Camp is currently FULL for campers.  However, if you are a resident hoping for your child or grandchild to attend, please contact Eva to see if an exception can be made and/or to get on the waitlist. Swim lessons for children aged 18 months – 13 years in the afternoon will be held at Maple Lake following Summer In The Parks. If you would like to indicate your interest in free swim lessons for your kid(s), please sign up here.
